Stepping into Spring

Feminine and sporty: a combination I never thought I'd come to love, and one that I certainly never imagined myself pulling off.  I was looking back on old posts when I came across one of my very favourites, Girl Off Duty, and realised that I had that striped top hidden somewhere in the crevices of my wardrobe...

Some tips on balancing sporty and feminine pieces: First of all, shoes are key... so go for sneakers or something with some edge (like the sneakers and dress combo in my tennis look). Second, add wide coloured stripes because they always give a sportier vibe (stripes like these look great).  Also, if the majority of your outfit is sporty, it's best to go with a skirt or dress... however, formal shorts can also give a girly twist to your look (I love these shorts).  Mixing textures can also contribute to the outfit; think sheer pieces with thick, durable sportswear. Mastering the sporty and feminine look is just a balancing act!
