Summer Bucket List

Posted on

Summer is almost here!  For me, summer is a time of year to try new things and make memories.  I love making a summer bucket list to keep me busy.  There are so many adventures to look forward to for summer 2013!  Here are 10 things that you should do this summer:

1. Go on a bike ride
Whether you go with family, friends, or just by yourself, it's always a refreshing way to get outside (even if it's just a short ride)

2.  Host a barbecue/picnic
Barbecues are a great way to bond.  Lemonade, hot dogs, and hamburgers are a summer must.  It's great for any warm, Sunday afternoon.

3. Go swimming (and not in a pool!)
Swimming is a summer no-brainer.  But try going swimming somewhere other than just a pool!  Whether it's a lake, the ocean, or even a river, it's a different experience to be out in nature.

4.  Go shopping.
If you're like me then you love shopping.  I would actually consider myself a shopaholic. (If you need a good movie, this summer then also watch Confessions of a Shopaholic)  Even if you don't have much to spend, buy an item or two and you'll feel better afterward, I promise.

5.  Take a Saturday hike
My sister and I drive up to the canyon on weekends to go on a little hike.  Hikes are so fun and so good for your health!

6.  Try longboarding.
I've recently picked up longboarding and I absolutely love it.

7.  Make a gorgeous flower crown and take pictures.
Flower headbands are trending, and why shouldn't they be?  They're glamorous and so fun to do a little photoshoot with.  Click here for a great D.I.Y. floral headband.

(this is my pretty sister!)

8. Take a trip to the zoo
Whether you're a toddler, teenager, or an adult the zoo is always a good time!  Make sure to choose a sunny day (and wear sunscreen!)

9.  Make a nice breakfast
A good breakfast is a great way to start a day!  Go to the store the day before to grab everything you need!  Get some juices, fruit, and whatever you need for what you're making.  I especially love crepes, but if you're not quite ready to make crepes, waffles are a great alternative!

10. Relax
I think everyone can agree that the most important part of summer is that you get to relax.  Just lay back, do the things you love, and enjoy
