Shades of January

I'm not a January girl... and in terms of fashion, it's quite easy to put aside all thoughts of "getting out of your comfort zone" and going all black this month. For me, the worst is when I find myself reaching for the puffer coat in the early morning hours. I really don't mind puffy coats on other people, but they're definitely not for me.  I can remember trudging to primary school in my bright pink marshmallow coat from Costco and just feeling like there must be some beautiful and warm alternative... turns out there's not.

So now I'm stuck in my freezing pea coats and I just can't see myself going out in a puffer at this rate.  For this look, I wore some black on top with my mom jeans and focused on coordinating makeup.  I tend to abuse the use of blush (I swear everyone's skin looks so dead these days!), so I added some lipstick in a similar shade and a touch of eyeshadow.
