Winter Photo Diary

Posted on

Winter is ending and I have a lot of photos to share from the happenings of 2016 so far...

January and February are easily the worst months in the year (to me at least), but this time they went by surprisingly quickly and with minimal amounts of pain.  I kicked off the new year with a visit to the oldest café in England, The Grand Café, which also happens to be in my crib (Oxford):

Before the holiday from school ended, my family took a little trip to Wales, where we visited the stunning Llanthony Priory (I definitely plan on going back this summer!)

I also got to have a little coffee date with my best friend Jess as well as Hannah, a student here at Oxford who also happens to have a killer Instagram.

I really love spending my Saturdays shooting and being in town with friends or family, after which my favourite spot to grab something to drink is The Varsity Club with the best view you could ask for...

My friend Kumbirai and I took a little trip to London, but for whatever reason I think at this point in my life I was a bit too tired lazy to bring along my camera. Here's one shot (I know, very weak of me) taken at the really adorable And Other Stories shop in Chelsea...

A fair amount of my time has been spent working in cafés and libraries around Oxford and Summertown, my favourites at the moment are Turl Street Kitchen and The Handlebar Café (check out those stunning bikes on the walls!):

I made a visit to The House of Sunny studios in late January to talk about a little collaborative work.  Here's the final product wearing the latest House of Sunny collection.

I also particularly loved how these little photo sessions went with Jess (you know when photos just go basically exactly how you want? <3)

I saw Gabrielle Aplin live in Oxford, she was amazing as you would expect and it had been ages since I'd been to a concert.  She played "Space Oddity," a tribute to David Bowie which I would totally recommend listening to here.

If you missed the coverage on my blog, I went to London Fashion Week in mid-February.  I love the atmosphere at fashion week and it completely wore me out but I loved every minute and every show I went to. On the Saturday of LFW I got to shoot with Loïc Brohard, you can see some of the images here

Since London Fashion Week, I've been studying a lot, hanging out with friends (I'll withhold all of our weird Snapchats), playing frisbee, and shooting. If I'm being completely honest, I would ideally shoot 24/7 with all of the creative ideas I have in my head at the moment. Maybe I need to start my own magazine (or just work at Porter or Vogue), because the only issue is that there isn't enough time/resources/anything to carry the ideas out...

^ this look on the blog soon! ^
Oh, and I got some Lacoste shoes and they're the best. Okay bye <3

Exciting things in the works for spring, thanks for reading!

xo,
Emma
